Author Michael Perry and the Long Beds

On Thursday November 17, 2011, Author Michael Perry met with students in Grades 8-12 and discussed his experiences as a published author and articles he has written for several national magazines.  Michael Perry is the author of many books including Population 485 and Truck: A Love Story. He has also recorded the live-humor albums "Never Stand Behind a Sneezing Cow" and "The Clodhopper Monologues" and he and his band the Long Beds have released two albums, the most recent ("Tiny Pilot") on the Amble Down Records label.

In the evening, Michael Perry and the Long Beds held a performance to benefit Stepping Stones of Dunn County.  Admission was free with a donation to the food pantry.  Together we collected $363.00 in donations.  For every $1.00 we collected, Stepping Stones is able to purchase $100.00 in food items.  We also collected 380 pounds of food for Stepping Stones.  Thanks for all the generosity.

Special Thanks to the following organizations for their donations:  People's State Bank, Boyceville PTA, Reading Boosters, BP Express, Fairmont Minerals, Cardinal FG, Western Wisconsin Energy LLC, Boyceville Sno Jammers, Walmart, WCEA, and the Boyceville Lions Club.
