Be Alert To Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
Pertussis (whooping Cough) is a bacterial respiratory disease spread through the air by direct face-to-face contact with a person who has active pertussis. It begins with cold-like symptoms and a cough that becomes worse over a period of 1-2 weeks. It is important you do NOT send our child to school if he/she is showing any symptoms of Pertussis. If you have any questions, you may contact the Dunn County Public Health Department at 715-232-2388, your medical doctor, or April Stoveren, RN at 715-643-3647, Ext. 140.
